Acacia concinna, or shikakai, is the original Indian shampoo. Its pods contain natural saponins that lift away dirt and oil while leaving the scalp's own moisture barrier intact — which is exactly what sulphate shampoos do not do.

We grind whole sun-dried pods, so the powder keeps its mildly acidic pH. That acidity is what closes the hair cuticle and leaves hair soft and glossy without any conditioner.

    Back to what my grandmother used
